System Mechanic vs Uniblue Registry Booster

Postby CamHiggins » Fri Jun 25, 2010 4:05 pm

I have these two programs on different computers (XP and Windows 7) and I would like to standardize. I am not smart enough to know which is better, or whether they are well regarded or even what they are doing, except I don't think they should both be on the same computer. The Uniblue product presumably corrects problem with the registry much more safely that if I did it manually. The System Mechanic seems to do this plus much more. It reminds me of older Norton solutions, and on the surface it would be my choice.

I would welcome any comments that would help me clarify this problem, Thank You

Registry Cleaners are VERY RISKY. They remove things that shouldn't be removed and seldom produce good results. Why do you have them? They are marketed heavily and promise the world and do little other that relieve you of your hard earned dollars. There is no "Magic Pill" for the registery and it shouldn't be altered without very specific knowledge. Why do you think you need either of these programs?
